Laura and I are pleased to announce that our first novel in the Dragon’s Bard series — Eventide — is now available at Amazon.com for their Kindle ebook device. This edition is taken from the original text files of the exclusive hardback first-edition printing. I formatted this edition personally and both Laura and I are very pleased not only with the resulting look of this ebook but that we can now make available this wonderful story to more people around the globe.
We are also looking into other formats and will let you know when they are available … but for now you can enjoy the original first edition either on your Kindle or on your PC using their free Kindle software.
And, of course, we will be starting our journey into the second book — Blackshore – this January. Subscribers to this second novel will experience the full range of the creation of this novel from early concept development through execution and publishing, many will even find their suggested characters appearing in the final book as they become part of the creative process — and, after reading the chapters as they are written — receive their own signed and numbered hardback copy of the finished book in the fall from our private printing.

Eventide Damaged Book Special
Due to a broken pallet, eleven copies of Eventide were damaged during shipment. The damage to these books ranges from creases and small tears (1/8 inch) to minor damage at the base of the spine of the book in some instances. Some include minor indentations along the edges of the book cover. In every case, however, the books look perfectly fine to the casual eye and in most cases barely noticable — however, we could not possibly send damaged books to our regular subscribers … which makes for an opportunity for you.
While supplies last, you can purchase a slightly damaged copy of Eventide at the price of $38 plus our usual shipping and handling charge. These books will be numbered in sequence with the other regular subscriber’s books and also be signed by both Laura and me. However, you need to know that the books are sold as damaged (imperfect) and that we cannot guarantee the kind of damage on the book you receive.

The Books are Almost Here…
I was just informed by the shipping company that the full shipment of ‘Eventide’ books will be delivered to our home tomorrow morning! I will be spending today preparing the shipping spreadsheets, registering your individual numbered books and the shipping labels.

The First Books Arrive
Today is a day we have been looking forward to for such a very long time! I was sitting at my desk this morning anxious to hear the doorbell ring as though it were Christmas morning once again.
Soon there was a knock at the door and the sound barely died before I opened it and found a wonderful box on my step.
The two advanced proofs of Eventide had arrived. I took a grateful moment and then nervously opened the box. Laura was serving at our church this morning so I was the first to see them.
And here they are, as you can see … the brilliant crimson book mark ribbons were worth every bit of the extra expense. The type is comfortable and the book is a delight to hold. Laura’s illuminations turned out beautifully and even the embossing on the spine looks fabulous. The feel of the paper — a big issue for us in designing the book — is everything we had hoped for and more.
It is, in every way, the treasure that we had hoped to bring to you.
We will be making the final arrangements this afternoon for the shipping of the books to us here — and begin signing, numbering and sending the books out to you as soon as they arrive. We are currently in the process of getting all the mailing addresses straightened out and assigning book numbers to each of them ahead of time. We’ve cleared the needful space in our garage (a.k.a. our publishing warehouse) and have set up our folding banquet table (a.k.a. assembly line and shipping department) which also handles our Santa’s Sleigh Ride games.
Subscriptions for this book are closed but we have only a hundred or so additional copies which we are offering as part of our Dragon’s Bard Holiday gift sets … a treasure that is rare indeed!
